Tre Scalini take 2

Tre Scalini take 2
Jun 30, 2011

We decided to go back to Tre Scalini for dinner as Tom really enjoyed their fish and I wanted to try it too.
Tonight we were seated near the misters, which would have been great had it been 90 outside, but in the low 80s it just meant you got a blast of icy vapour on your back every 5 minutes and hideous frizzy hair!
Tonight we ordered quickly and the waiter bought bread, olive oil, vinegar and the all important plates he forgot last night. Oddly the olive oil tasted of bananas!
First course was bruschetta. Our lunch place had the slightly better version as they had were more generous with the tomatoes.
Second course was the delicious fish baked with potatoes. As far as I can fathom, it's only fish, potatoes, salt, pepper and rosemary, so I'm hoping to recreate it at home.
We couldn't resist having a tartufo again from the place where it was invented :)
Tonight we had a rock guitarist playing outside the restaurant. He was pretty good. He was replaced by a guy with a really cool guitar that was basically just a frame with strings stretched across it. Unfortunately his repertoire was blander than easy listening, and after "Feelings" and "Alone again, Naturally" we left.
