Porto Azurra and Wine Tasting
Jul 03, 2011
The Quest was a little late docking and when we finally disembarked we were one of the last people on the bus so were near the back :(
However we were not as late as the 4 people we had to go back for who were 30 minutes late, moaned that the only seats left were at the back of the bus, and then moaned some more that the bus moved off again before they had sat down :)
Porto Azurro was a picturesque seaside town with a yacht marina.
Our second stop was "La Chiusa", a winery where we tasted rose, white and red in the garden in the rain! The rose was best, young and crisp. They also made their own olive oil which was good, but not as good as the white truffle olive oil that they served, but which was made elsewhere. We also sampled two types of bruschetta, one with pesto and one with garlic and anchovies. The third thing they made was honey and when they suggested we dip cheese into it, we did, and it was nasty!!!!
