Aqualina

Aqualina
Jul 04, 2011

Tonight there was a 4th July BBQ and buffet on deck, featuring american food. True to form, we booked ourselves into Aqualina, a Mediterranean themed restaurant, instead.
Aqualina was a veritable oasis of calm compared to the zoo-like atmosphere of the BBQ.
Our waitress had been trained initially at the Peninsula Hotel in Manila and provided excellent service.
We ordered a really nice bottle of french rose with the meal.
I started with brie en croute served with a fruity jam. I got three small servings and ate two of them. Tom had seared scallops.
My second course was an arugula salad with pine nuts and blue cheese. Tom had a seafood bisque.
We both ordered sea bass as our main course and it was cooked perfectly.
Our dessert course was a grand marnier souffle and assorted sorbets, followed by petits fours and coffee.
It was certainly worth the $15 per person cover charge.
